Macintosh OSX Instructions

***If you are unable to follow these instructions for ANY reason you may not be able to play the videos that have DRM. Not all of our files will play on all Mac computers. Please make sure you have the appropriate software.***

Here at Karen Pryor Clickert raining, we pride ourselves on the product value we provide to our customers. As a result, we have to be careful that our content is not distributed without our knowledge or consent. Therefore we use Microsoft’s Digital Rights Management (DRM) Software to copy- protect our ClickFlicks video downloads. One of the reasons that we chose Microsoft’s DRM is because it works on both Microsoft Windows and Macintosh OSX. The downside of this is that there are a few more steps involved to get the license key approved on a Macintosh. Once the key has been entered, it will never need to be entered again; therefore you will only have to go through this process once for each video. If at anytime you have questions or comments about any of the steps outlined below, please feel free to contact us.

Before you begin the process, make sure you have your license key nearby and that you have already downloaded your recently purchased ClickFlicks to your computer.

In order to access Microsoft’s DRM properly, you need to use Microsoft software for OSX.  Therefore the first step would be to download the latest version of Windows Media Player for OSX (not Flip4Mac, as DRM does not work with this program). Download Windows Media Player for OSX here.

safari menu The next step is to make Internet Explorer your default web browser. (This can easily be changed back after the license has been confirmed.) In order to do this, start Safari (the standard Mac browser). Select Preferences... from the Safari menu.
safari menu In the General tab, find the Default web browser pull-down menu and make your selection from the list, in this case it would be Internet Explorer. Close the preferences window (via the red x) and you're done! After the license key has been entered, you can change back to your normal Default web browser through this same process.
wmp preferences The next step is to open Windows Media Player and open the Preferences. Select Preferences... from the Windows Media Player menu.
WMP preferences In the Preferences pane of the Windows Media Player menu. check the box next to Run script commands when present on the Security tab.
wmp open While Windows Media Player is still open, you can now go to the File menu to open the ClickFlick that you downloaded. Once you have opened the file a number of different things will occur.
Internet Explorer will automatically open and you will be prompted to enter your license key. (Safari and FireFox will both ask you to do the same thing, but they will not communicate correctly between the DRM server and Windows Media Player.)
Enter the license key by either typing or copying (command c) and pasting (command v).

Your license key will be checked, and if it is valid you will be prompted to select Next to continue. If your license was not entered correctly or was invalid, you will be asked to enter the information again.

EZDRM will ask you hit play, but you might not be able to do this due to the fact that Windows Media Player will have closed during this process. If the player closed, simply re-open the player and then open your movie and your ClickFlick should begin to play without any more problems.
You will now be able to sit back and enjoy your purchase from the ClickFlicks Learning Center. As long as the video is played on the computer in which the license was entered, you will never have to enter the license code again.
